World’s most expensive snus

Swedish Match (a Swedish tobacco producer) is to release the world’s most exclusive and expensive snus; with a price-tag more than ten times above normal levels. The new blend – named Kardus Superior BlendVintage 2010 – will be release in November 2010. But if you wanna lay your hands on one of the exclusively produced boxes – containing a special blended snus made of hand-processed javanese tobacco, flavoured with arrack – you better be quick; only 500 boxes are for sale. The porcelain in the box comes from the cargo of the original East Indiaman Götheborg’s last voyage 1745 and was salvaged from the wreck in 1905. Please note that Swedish snus is banned in all EU countries except Sweden.

Holland vs. Sweden - 12th October

The biggest game of the year (for Swedes at least) is soon upon us. The European Championship qualifier in football between groupleader Sweden against runner up Holland in a very tough game in Amsterdam. It takes place at 19:30 on Tuesday the 12th October.
It will be shown by our friends at The Harcourt (32 Harcourt Street, W1H 4HX) who also will have a BBQ on between 18:00 - 21:00. This is an open event so no need for any ticket. But please show up early because this Swedish pub can't risk exceeding their maximum capacity. It's first in, first served.
Come on Sweden / Heja Sverige ! ! !

Halloween 2010

"It's Halloween! It's Halloween!
The moon is full and bright,
And we shall see what can't be seen on any other night.
Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.
In masks and gowns we haunt the street,
And knock on doors for trick or treat.
Tonight we are the king and queen,
For oh tonight it's Halloween!"

Yes, it's soon that time of the year again when it's time to get out the ketchup bottle, fake spiderweb, put on a funny, sexy or scary outfit and party the night away with your fellow Viking Party People and friends. So block it out now in your very busy social calendar, start planning your outfit and tell all your friends about it.

We will be partying on Saturday the 30th October at The Harcourt pub in Marylebone. There will be a BBQ on in the heated beergarden during the evening. So feel free to bring along anything you like to grill. Plates, cutlery and condiments will be provided for free. There will also be prizes for the best/spookiest/funniest dressed freaks and weirdos! So come on, make a real effort to scare us or make us laugh so much the beer come out of our noses!

Tickets are only £6/person - including a free drink and use of the BBQ. Detailed info can be found here:
www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=145109942185734
And tickets can be bought directly at the pub or here: www.ticketsource.co.uk/harcourt

So bring your friends, partners, skeletons (please don't bring a real one) and bats, throw some fake blood and spiderwebs on them and party the night away with us!

Scandinavian Party September Club Night @ Sway

Join us on the 24th September
Our popular monthly Scandinavian club nights continues. And as the feedback from our August party about the new venue was soo good, we are returning to Sway Bar & Club in Holborn (60 Great Queen Street). As usual, everyone will have access to the whole club but the venue’s VIP room will be exclusive for Scandinavians (and their friends on the guest list) all night.

You can look forward to:
- Meeting and partying with hundreds of Scandinavians and their friends
- Exclusive access to the VIP room
- Scandinavian DJ (playing lots of Scandinavian hits)
- Special Scandinavian drinks menu (incl. Turkish Pepper shots)

GUEST LIST & PRICES
You will need to be on our Guest List to join the party. If you're not on the list, you won't be able to enter the VIP room where all the Scandinavian people and music will be.
You then pay on the door which is:
Entrance 20:00 - 21:00: £5
Entrance 21:00 onwards: £10

To get yourself and your friends on the Guest List, e-mail me the full names of all the people you wish to add to: joe@hedgefundsclub.com
Please note that the guest list closes at midnight the day before (Thursday 23rd September).

IMPORTANT!
When you arrive at the venue, you will need to tell the doorman that you are there for the Scandinavian Party. If you do not do so, you will not get the wristband which gives you access to the VIP bar where the party takes place. And remember that even if you are over 18 years of age it is very important that you bring ID. If you don't bring ID the doorman may refuse you entrance.

I look forward to partying with you on the 24th!

VPP's Crayfish Party

This is why I love crayfish parties!
On Saturday we hosted our annual Viking Party People Swedish Crayfish Party. And as usual, it was a really fun evening. Apparently the food was great (I don't eat seafood myself), lots of shots and booze, plenty of singing - incl. a 30min live gig by Oliver (this Scottsman singing "Ga & Fiska!" in Swedish was a real highlight!) and plenty of dancing in club afterwards finished off a great evening. Thank you Viking Party People... people... for being such a friendly and fun bunch! I was particularly impressed with two members flying in from Finland to only attend the party and fly back the following night. If you were unfortunate enough to miss this party, we are hosting our next great fun Saturday evening very soon; Oktoberfest. You can find more info about our Oktoberfest party here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=123510251010282&index=1

Reading Festival 2010

I spent last week with 100,000+ really annoying teenagers in Reading watching some really great (and a few really bad) performances from big and small rock bands - and I absolutely loved it! Luckily I had access to the VIP area so could get away from the kids when they got too punch-in-the-face-annoying. For next summer, I will try and figure out a way for Viking Party People to attend festivals together as I'm now completely hooked on festival life.

And here are the new Viking Party People Live Awards for Reading 2010:

Best gig: Weezer
Biggest positive surprise: Guns n' Roses
Best performance: Foxy Shazam
Best song: Welcome to the Jungle (Guns n' Roses)
Best moment: When Rivers Cuomo (lead singer in Weezer) put on a blond wig, started singing Pokerface, rolled around in the mud before jumping into the audience
Best party: Silent disco
Best DJ: DJ Micke (in the VIP tent)
Best discovery: That I now also like English cider
Biggest disapointment: The Libertines - absolutely rubbish!
Biggest confusion: Wether or not I enjoyed all the teenage girls in the crowd flashing their boobs (as they were just a bit too young to be doing that)
Worst moment: Realising that I was one of very few people at the festival that were old enough to know who Cypress Hill was
