Gingerbread house season

Pimp6The x-mas season is upon us and a traditional part of this in Scandinavia is to build and decorate your own gingerbread houses. Most tend to look a bit like the one on the left...

...but some people goes to the extremes with this (or simply just don't understand the concept) - like the Americans (surprise, surprise) who have built the biggest gingerbread house in the world (see picture on the right).

Pimp7The Norwegians also has gone a bit far by building a whole city of gingerbread houses (see picture on the left). It's called "Pepperkakebyn" and is situated in Begen.

If you want to join in the fun of building one, then Scandinavian Kitchen have gingerbread house kits from "Anna's" in Sweden for only £4.95.  All you need is to make some "glue" out of icing sugar and you're good to go. Add Smarties, M&Ms, more icing, candy canes, dancing penguins etc. etc. as decorations.
